Hi All...

40 days is quoted as the turnaround leadtime for receiving the results of a police check under subject access...does this mean 40 working days which is essentially 8 weeks, or is it 40 straight days i.e. including weekends?

I applied on the 6th of June and I am now playing the waiting game...I hope its not 8 weeks!

I got it back in three weeks time from New Scotland Yard.

Ours took 35 calendar days and I sent them to the wrong address however they eventually found there way to the right department through the internal police post !!!

Mine took 40 days including weekends.

I think the 40 days quoted is 40 working days though we got ours back within 2 1/2 weeks.

Thank you for all your feedback...I hope we get our police checks back as soon as possible. I will chase them if nothing happens within40 calendar days. Looking at it, view is that they would have stipulated 'working' days if that was the intention...we'll have to wait and see.

Ooops ... just asked the same question! I lodged mine by hand while in the UK on a short holiday (currently live in Australia on 457 and have done for 1.5 years). Thing is, I have had no confirmation of receipt or anything like that! Did any of you guys get that??

Also, I put my address down as my Australian address, so I'm hoping that they make it here and don't get lost in the post or something crazy like that!!

Anybody else been through this!?

Hi aedmunds... I got a receipt for the £10 fee that I paid and a letter telling me that it could take up to 40 days before I got a certificate...how long ago did you apply?

The police shouldn't have any problems sending your certificate to Oz...you might want to give them a call though just to be sure because our data protection laws could prohibit them sending such information abroad.
