UK Police CHeck Form
 

Can anyone help me with who is allowed to countersign my UK Police Check form (Section 3 of Subject Access Application Form).

I know it lists JPs, doctors, solicitors etc but do Computer Professionals count (ie members of the BCS or IEEE)? Has anyone used anyone else not on the list and still had the form processed?

We only had to sign our forms ourselves down at the Police Station. Nobody else was involved and we received our clearances this week.

hmmm have I got the wrong form then ? I have the Subject Access Application Form - or is it different for different police authorities? mines THames Valley

july 2001 i remembered the form was abit complex.
i recently got some more so i'm ready for when they ask..form 3019b...and it looks simpler

From what I've been told, you can either just go to your local police station and ask for the form, or get the one (3019B) at:

http://www.met.police.uk/dataprotect...s/dpa3019b.pdf

and post it in directly. I'm guessing that may be a bit quicker than waiting for the local plod to pass it on.

I also had problems obtaining a suitable countersignature. Call the Thames Valley Police Data section (number on your form) and tell them that you cannot source a suitable countersignature. They will then send you an additional form enabling you to take your passport into any police station. Once there, the duty officer will check your passport for likeness and authorize your Subject Access Request in lieu of a suggested counter signatory.
