Default UK Phones

A quick question if anyone can answer? do UK telephones work over here in OZ?
We have noticed that some of the telephone plugs seems to be different, in which case does anyone know where we can buy adapters from ?

Any advice appreciated
Thanks

All work fine including anaolgue and DECT, but different adapters are needed, but easy to find.

Is that for a fact? Another recent thread discussed this and the answer was inconclusive.
When I moved back to UK, I had to rewire Aus phones for UK use - it wasnt an adapter issue.

When I moved to Aus my UK phones worked fine, and that was in a new build apartment (2 of them).

Thus it may be that older phones lines do not work, but it certainly worked for me.

Likewise, we bought a phone back from Aus to the UK and it also worked fine, just the adapter needed changing. Maybe things have changed so I could be wrong but my experience did not highlight any issues...
