UK Pensions

Can my husband cash in his pension within the uk. He currently has a pension worth £14000 but with us planning on moving to Oz by feb 2010 we were wondering if it is worthwhile doing it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Re: UK Pensions

It depends on his age.

I checked mine with my Pension Company and I have the details somewhere.

Ask them what the options are.

You can also transfer the pension to an Australian company.

My OH has a very small Uk pension (about 7k), and it is depreciating every year. Spoke to someone about bringing it over to add to his super here and they wanted $4000.00 to do it!!!!

My OH is 34 and his pension is with the ministry of defence and Babcock Marine.we have been told he would lose a certain amount of money if he wishes to cash it in or we could lock it in here and get it when he turns 55.
