Hi Ginny,

I think channel bands in the UK may differ from Australia.

If you were really desperate you could try the manufacturers website, or check the menu settings of the STB which could have Australian settings, but to be honest, I wouldn't bother. You can buy a digital STB over here for about $60 so it's just extra baggage that has a fairly high chance of not working over here!

I doubt it. Besides the issue of the PAL system differing which means sound won't work on UK TV's, as Budgie said the channels are spread over about 3 bands. TV's we brought from the UK won't even search some of these bands.

Forget the playstation as well - that was a bit of a blow, when I discovered that didn't work either

Why not? Mine works fine.

As for the freeview box, no it won't work for several reasons. Do some searching on www.dba.org.au if you really need to know the technical stuff.

If your PS2 / PS doesnt work (as in you see picture but no sound) maybe you are using the RF Cable output (this is the standard one that comes with PS2 and looks like an aerial lead when it plugs in back of TV) go to ebgames or somewhere and for 29$ buy a Component or AV cable for PS2 - this is the same back into the PS2 but at the TV end has 3 or 4 cables that look like big fat headphone plugs - plug these into the TV, watch it on AV channel and you get PS2 working.

I paid $75 for my digi-box in either Coles or Woollies. I only have it so I can watch the footy on the portable to keep Mrs M happy

yes they do - but agani you might need to get the AV cable instead of RF cable.
