UK Companies different terms and practices??

I'm currently dealing with a UK based company here in Aus in relation to my Pension. They want payment within 7 days. The usual terms in Australia as far as i know are 14 to 30 days.

Is 7 days payment the usual timescale with UK companies.

Bloody Un-Australian I call it ;)

I just paid an invoice that was on 7 day terms, so don't think it's just the UK

You may find that there is legislation over there about paying small business quickly - I know that there were issues over this a few years ago

It's common courtesy to pay invoices quickly anyway

My 7 day invoice was from an Australian business, so not just a UK thing. It's something that I've never really taken notice of before though
