UK Child Maintenance
Times creeping on and my visa will soon be issued (fingers Crossed, medicals sent and now awaiting assuror to be asked for money) its now time to cross all the T’s and dot all the I’s in the UK before our big move.
One question for all you who have made the move and left children in the UK is.
I pay maintenance to my first wife for my two children. No court settlement but happily mutual agreement between us both. The trouble I now find is that I want to continue to pay for my children’s wellbeing but think it’s going to be a real drain in Oz sending Monies back to the UK each month. I was thinking about leaving a years supply back in the UK bank account.
Surely I’m not the first to have this problem what have the rest of you done?

Australia has a maintenance agreement with the UK.

You may want to email the CSA in Australia and see if they can help out.
Maintenance is usually taken from wages in Australia (as it's an agency of the Tax Office)
As it is deducted from your wages, the issue of sending remittances back to the UK ceases to be a real drama.
But get in touch with the CSA, they may be able to give you other options.
