Default UK BBQ gas adapters ?

Hi

We are bringing out uk bbq over and noticed the oz ones have a different gas regulator...screw in versus clilp in....is it just as simple as buying an oz gas hose and adapter and getting an oz gas bottle...will the other end fit the BBQ or am I stuffed?

anyone else brought there uk bbq ?

Don't know about the whole hose thing, but we bought a 4 burner BBQ with hood temp gauge , gas ring on one side and double cupboard underneath for $350

Why would you import a BBQ from the UK? Thats like moving to the north pole and taking snow !

Not 100% sure about UK, but we brought out a 2 ring gas hot plate that we used for camping when we lived in Germany. We couldnt find an adapter for it anywhere and ended up throwing it away cos australian standards are different from EU standards.

Our german one was compatible to the UK, so I'm guessing you will have the same problem.

Dont worry though, camping and BBQing paraphernalia are much cheaper here so sell yours in the UK and use the money to buy a new one here.

check out http://www.barbequesgalore.com.au/ to see what is available, but bear in mind these guys are expensive. You can get much cheaper if you shop around.

I'm sure Bunnings will have the hose ends, just cut your Brit one off and fit the Aussie one. Too easy - no worries

Don't bother, jubilee clips are illegal on gas fittings out here.

We had to chuck away our UK patio heater when we got here.....

Only if you want it to blowup and catch on fire. Easier to leave behind and replace entire BBQ.

We brought ours as it was a wedding present and all we needed was a tiny adapter (cost pennies) from BBQ Galore or Bunnings - pick one up while you get your new gas bottle - no probs at all
