UK based SIPP

Hi,
About 8 years ago I cashed in 3 years worth of UK defined benefits scheme into a SIPP. Performance has been abysmal, zero growth. Anyone had any experience with SIPPS? Can you recommend a sound adviser, I need to make a change.

Thanks,
Neil.

There’s a clue in the name. Self invested personal pension. If you don’t do it yourself the you need it to be managed on your behalf. If it is then they are not very good.
start by finding out how it is invested and what mix of shares etc are in there.

These days there are low cost easy to understand SIPP providers out there - for most SIPPs just leaving the money in ETFs/Index funds works for most people. Over the last three years we have had tremendous growth in markets - you may need to review the funds you picked to invest in - and keep on eye on what fees the SIPP provider charges.

I've tried multiple recommended funds. All of them say they can't help an offshore fund holder. I'm really struggling to know what to do?

Have you spoken to your SIPP and asked about your investment? When you transferred in was the cash invested and how? Did you choose any investments? Is it actively managed?

it is possible the funds are still simply cash …..

Hi, yes the funds are invested and yes I've spoken to my advisor but no growth at all.

either fees are extortionate and/or investments are poor. My OH UK SIPP has performed very well. Can’t your advisor alter the funds?
