Default UK approval rates for NZ LTBV

Hi all

Just checked the latest performance stats at NZIS, looking at approvals for LTBV via NZIS Wellington, sorted for UK.

The last few month's approval ratios range from 76% to 94%, with average of 90%.

This is about 5% points worse than was happening under old policy, indicating a few people/agents have not fully adjusted to the new regime.

I suspect some will still be lodging with very small franchises and one man businesses. But there are ways to deal with that.

We can discuss some of this at Earls Court show in next few days, hope to see you there.

Kind regards

jamie Smith

Is it possible for a one-man business to gain an LTBV? If the new Skilled Migrant thing leave me high and dry, applying for an LTBV for my one-man translation business would be one option. The criteria appear to make that a massive long shot, though.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to Earl's Court (living in Japan).

Cheers,
John

John,

I'm sure Jamie will give you a more definitive answer but as far as I'm aware, and certainly in my own experience, LTBV's can be issued for one man businesses BUT you are expected to employ Kiwis somewhere down the line and this should be reflected in your Business Plan.

There is a thread at this link on business types and employing Kiwis on the LTBV & Business Forum.
