Hi
Lovely subject BTW!!!
My hubby had this done a couple of years ago, but was too :scared: to go with the local anaestetic, so he went with a general, no probs and was uncomfortable for about 3 days, fine within the week!!!
Now, I observed this procedure (3 months to go till qualified nurse) at a minor surgery clinic last week, under local anaestetic, my advice would most definately be go with the general if you get a choice!!!!
I was definately feeling very sorry for these chaps, they looked absolutely terrified!!!!
Anyway, as they say with childbirth, its worth it in the end!!!!!

yeah and when a blackbird gets the worm in her beak she then "snips" the worm in half, but does'nt throw away the middle part!!!!!
![Big Grin](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I could tell all the men were trying desperately to think of something else!!! Two of the men did get an e***tion, think that may have been the reason for the terrified look!!!

Don't forget the dettol for after [ouch...evil]
Fill the wheelbarrow up with neat dettol. Submerge swollen melon sized gonads.
You can then wheel yourself around for a few days till swelling goes down.
Tooo easy

I had it done quite a few yrs ago. I got all the bullshit about pain and swelling and can categorically state there was no pain just a little mild discomfort. No swelling and only a very small bruise around the tiny 1/4" incision. Had it done Friday afternoon at the doctors surgery took about 20 mins. Stayed in bed all Saturday and then went out on the town in the evening. Back at work Monday morning as though nothing had happened
. Could be that the Doc specialised in doing them and was very good but I was extremely worried by the horror stories I'd heard :scared: gladly they proved to be false and were generally from blokes who were macho enough to have sent their wife's in for major surgery instead
.

Approximately 40-50 years of periods, PMT and cramps.
Smear tests
![EEK!](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif)
All in preparation for approx 5 years of hot flushes, night sweats, HRT, osteoporosis and KY jelly shopping.
Inbetween all this we have 9 months pregnancy, including stretchmarks, heartburn, varicose veins (in amazing places), urgent need to wee less than 5 mls every hour. walking like John Wayne for months not 5 days!
Then of course there's labour :scared: .......enough said on that! but lets just highlight things like-episiotomy, tears, stitches,epidurals,c.sections.
Years of sleepless nights, breastfeeding, stress incontinence.
But the worst that is inflicted on a woman is a bloody whinging man who had two tiny tubes snipped (not veins-don't over egg the pudding!!) hobbling and boasting to all and sundry!
![Roll Eyes](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
We live longer than you too, so we suffer it all for longer and usually with out a solitary moan!
Yes there is a bloody good reason why women like their beloveds to have the snip...................
