Two Weeks Till Our Reccie
Hi all,
Just two weeks now till we head off on our reccie
We just wanted to know do we have to do anything other than get our visa stamped
We are heading to Brisbane then on to Melbourne does anybody recommend any thing special to do while we are over there

Hi there,
Just wishing you a great time on your reccie.
I do wish I'd spent a couple of hours driving around the places I look at on realestate.com more to get a better feel for the area and picked up a prospectus from the local schools. I feel we didn't do enough of this

Thanks for the replys im sure we will have a great time. I thought that you needed and oz address to open up a bank account

Hi
No you do not need an Australian address. We opened an account with NAB on our last trip and they are sending statements etc back to the UK. It is an internet account so we can manage from the UK also.

We were a bit shocked when we went and had our passport Stamped!!!! as they dont actually do anything other than check you through the same as every one else. I at least expected Kylie to welcome us as permanent residents

On our Reccie we went to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. the kids loved stroking the kangaroos etc. We also opened a bank account at that time, but we have some friends living there, and used their address, so hopefully they will get all the junk mail as well...... Also another good thing we did was go up Mt Coot-tha at dusk, which was very very impressive, watching Brisbane get dark (and its free).

We have spoke to some members of BE and hopfully we are going to eet for a drink or two. We are away till 13 July so nearly 4 weeks all in, just so much to take in and see, also have to keep the kids happy
Will look into opening a bank account while we are there then also thanks
