Default TV programme - A New Life Down Under

Just noticed it's on all day till 9pm on Discovery Home & Leisure.

Gonna tape it just incase we've missed something the first time around, that'll be lots then! :scared:

That show is full of whinging poms.
I know that for all the hopefulls stuck in the uk it would be easy to pretend you are in oz just by switching the tv on and watching the show but if you really need something good to make you feel closer to australia perhaps you should get the book by Bill Bryson called "down under".
At least its an educated story of what its really like here in oz, minus the whinging poms.

Ages ago we got ourselves a book called "Culture shock - a guide to customs and etiquette." - Australia. by Ilsa Sharp the isbn number is 1-85733-019-6 - printed by Kupperard, don't know if it's still in print - it's got some good info in it.

Rats, I missed it.... and we got sky just so we could watch this kind of thing....

Why is it when you tell people you are planning to go they delight in telling you their horror stories.... like how unaccepting the ozzies are and how everyone they knew were too miserable to live once they got there... and how the kids hate you forever for moving them... ????????? Its a bit like childbirth..people start telling you about their hideous 7 day labours the moment you are pregnant......

Hmmm something about life being too short but must have watched all of them about 5 times by now. So I didn't bother this time round! Anyway most of them just annoy me as they've got the chance I want and just moan about it Go figure that one out?

Well I've only been here two months and I'm sure I've moaned enough times to fill a 1 hour programme, get real it's called editing

I loved the skeggs, just genuine down to earth people.

Hmmm haven't seen the new life with you in it? Or maybe you'd be far too clever to moan and whinge whilst someone was in the room pointing a camera at you? Yes it was editing but Mandy did moan a lot otherwise they'd not have been able to edit it in

Considering that they followed them around for six months, it wouldn't have to be that much.

I've had a few bad experiences since I've been here and ranted on here, no different really.

It's a lot easier to understand where they're coming from when you've lived here and not been here on holiday.

Sorry but I wouldn't put myself in a position where I would be on TV during a time when I was under duress. The media distorts everything in the name of entertainment, but some just want their 15 minutes of fame
