TV Engineers

Hi does anyone know of any TV engineers in the Mornington area who would be able to convert UK TV's to be used in Australia.

Thanks

If you find such an engineer, you should check how the cost of conversion compares to just buying a new Australian TV.

We've just had a Sony 32" Digital TV converted to make suitable for Oz, they charged me €90 (about £50). This was done by a engineer in the Sony shop.

They also 'chipped' a Sony DVD / Home Cinema system which makes it region free for anywhere in the world, this charge was €150 (about £80).

OK, so the charges were high enough but to buy a new Sony Digital TV and Home Cinema sytem would be around $3000, so it was the cheapest option.

You should ask in a larger TV / electrical retail shop and see if they can do it, someone posted recently they were charged $90 to convert a TV which is cheap enough when you consider the cost to buy another new.

Hopefully someone can help you further.
