Default TV and DVD Player

I have read in a few places that TV's and DVD players from the UK don't work in Oz?? Is that right, and if so why not?? Our DVD player has just literally blown up and we don't want to spend a fortune on a replacement if we can't ship it over with us.

Hi

we brought our newish widescreen digital tvs with us, they work fine through Oz digiboxes, or you can buy Oz vcrs and receive that way.

You will need a multiregional dvd player as the region is different to the Uk, alternatively, you might be able to download a code via the net to make it multiregional.
