I have just returned from a visit to a good local TVsales and repair shop. The engineer has told me that he has adjusted TV's brought from Oz to here and our TV's can be adjusted by an engineer in australia to accept their transmissions. Good news for most of us?????

Is there anybody already in OZ who took their TV's with them and had them converted? If so how much does it cost. It's fairly simple, but apparently there is a habit to over charge because we need our TV's. If anyone could find out for me I would love to know because we may bring three TV's with us. We have multi band TV's (e.g. can pick up the cable channels as well as UHF, VHF-H, VHF-L), so the video standard is the same, 'PAL', but it's the sound standard that needs to be changed, 'I' to 'B'.
Any TV Engineeer will know what this message means.
Any body else thinking of taking your TV's, look at the specification in your instruction book. If it says - PAL I / B-G you are OK. If it just says - PAL I, you need it converted.
