Question TUMBLEDRYER HUMOUR ME!

Hi All
It may seem ridiculous but should I bring my tumble dryer ?????. We are bringing all furniture in a 20ft container 3000 euro ish as from what we read we could never replace our whole house for that price. So room in not an issue, but will I ever use it????
Should I give the dryer to a neighbour who'll be grateful when the rain comes in summer, winter, spring etc

Thanks Jo

Ps cant find the travel bolts for washing machine so probably have to leave that here Any idea on price ??????

It has pissed down most of summer, bring the thing it will probably be your most used item in the wet season. Now't dries when its humid, and clothes get that dank smell after being wet for days.

We have had an unusually wet summer so you would have definitely used it this year. Saying that, as Brisbane does not have a wet season like the tropics, just a wet summer, if it is not raining in summer your clothes will dry outside without a problem. I would say bring it for sure for stormy summer days.

YES bring it! As peeps have said clothes don't dry in the humidity and sometimes in Summer they dry too quickly and go 'crispy' I tumble dry these for 5 minutes or so to soften them up

...Honest

Not sure about Brisbane but in Perth you wouldn't need one. Clothes dry very quickly outside (in summer 1-2 hours) and they come from the line as hot as if they had been tumbledried! Hanging stuff in the sun can be a problem though, fragile clothes can get their colours damaged. Something odd is that many people seem to wash their clothes in cold wash only. We discovered this in the short term rental when we arrived, the washing machine had only a cold water connection and didn't heat the water up. I think the landlords were just stingy!

Bring the tumble. I use mine all the time and I live in Perth, not seen any rain for weeks here.

We are taking ours. My wife would probably die without it. Laundry is never ending in our house.

We live in Brisbane and have a tumble dryer which has possibly been used once in the last 2-3 years! We have a large roofed deck and the laundry gets hung out there, and even with the summer humidity it gets dry enough to iron - in fact it gets dry enough to wear as not everything gets ironed. It seems silly to pay high prices for electricity to do a job that Nature can do very effectively for free.

However, if you have room then bring it, as there are always those occasions where you need something dry in a hurry and it's chucking it down outside!

Dont worry about the coats, its warm rain up here! You will probably need a light jacket or jumper in winter, not so much because of the cold but because of the southerly winds, they can be a bit of a surprise! In winter its jeans first thing, shorts by lunchtime and jeans again at night

happy packing!
