A guy in Dundee who does PVC window repairs goes under the amusing and appropriate name of 'The Plastic Surgeon'. He was doing some work at a hospital in Dundee and put his van in the public car park, paid for 3 hours, put the sticker inside the windscreen and returned before the allotted time to find he had been given a parking ticket!

Apparently the staff at the hospital are not allowed to use the public car park so the parking attendant saw Plastic Surgeon on the tradesman's van and promptly gave him a ticket.

The guy is refusing to pay and rang the company responsible to explain that he isn't a real plastic surgeon and how could anyone think that (photo of van in paper with name and subtitle 'PVC repairs around the home')? The company is saying if he sends in the number of the fine they will review the fine.

obviously the car park attendants up there are as thick as the ones at our local hospital! We have to pay 0.15% of our take home pay to the car park people. It comes out of your wages automatically. Its such a piss take as we're still not guaranteed a parking space and on a few occaions I've had to park in Asda's car park (15 min walk away), in the dark, late at night. When I complained to Carillion (the people who run the system) they informed me that as my car was not on hospital premises, if anything happened to me they would not be liable! I explained that the reason I HAD to park off hospital grounds was because there were no parking spaces, the guy shrugged his shoulders and said "well if everyone parked where they were supposed too (ie the public) then you'd get a space". But they're not enforcing the public, they're targetting staff and have wheelclamped one of the emergency obstericians who parked (in an emergency) in one of the public spaces at the front entrance to the maternity unit. It was two in the morning and the place was empty! The Dr is obviously pee'd off!

Can you just imagine the (slow) thought processes of the attendant. Hang on, this is a hospital, here's a van which says the guy is a plastic surgeon. Plastic surgeons work at the hospital, employees are not allowed to use the public car park. Give him a ticket!
