$65 I think. You'll get about $35 back from Medicare

The cost of the follow up appointment will sometimes be the same as a normal price or at the doctors discretion, bulk billed. The only person who should be discussing your medical issues should be the doctor, rarely does the doctor have time to speak to you over the phone, providing they know it is you. The receptionists should not be giving results out, it's not their job.

Normal. You only get 80% back if you've gone over your limit of $1500 during a Jan/Dec year.

Having a GP that you see each and every time you need a doctor is not so usual in Australia as in the UK. Most people I know just see whichever doctor they can into the fastest when needed - not all though, some have a regular doctor with whom they have a relationship.

I personally don't need to see the same doctor each time as I generally go for minor aliments (infections, flu etc) and some repeat prescriptions - therefore I go to a bulk bill clinic - you can't make appointments but usually get seen within 30 minutes and it's free (bulk billed to medicare) - suits me fine.

I'm in Brisbane though so can't recommend one in Melbourne.
