The Tribe leaves NZ
Ray Thompson, head of Cloud 9 who make the TV series The Tribe - that one with all the kids with dodgy hairdos and make-up - is featured on page 5 of the NZ Immigration Service's current case studies book that you get in your induction pack when you make the fateful move. He is trumpeted as one of the great NZ success stories (he is a Pom immigrant), and is featured as saying:
"I love New Zealand. It's a young country; in New Zealand I see a vibrant and exciting tomorrow."
I just heard on the radio that now Ray has decided to move main production to Oz, leaving only a skeleton staff in NZ.
They should start doing the NZIS case studies book in pencil. I must say, I actually feel sorry for NZ some times.
