thanks mate....they r doin good......he is well smashed up, but was a mega fit guy which basically saved his life...on seeing pics in the paper god only knows how he survived!!!!!! he is a copper so getting mega support from that area

Certainly put it all in perspective doesn't it. We had a friend go through a similar situation this year and it really does make you look at life in a different light.

I hope your friend recovers quickly and fully.

I had a bad high speed motorbike accident in 2003. Was given a 25% chance of survival when I arrived at the hospital.

Luckily I pulled through, but it DOES make you think how precious this life is! ...

Its so sad we all take life for granted and its not til something awful happens that it gives us a kick up the arse and the reality check we all need once in a while!

I won't hijack as this is obviously a very serious thread.

Just to answer. No, I still love bikes, but after what I put my family through, out of respect I've stayed off proper bikes since.

I have a kids type of bike, that I get my kicks with now and then on local waste land, but won't take a proper bike on the road anymore.

Been to see our mate and what a relief it was to see him. We thought his face would be all cut up etc but he has been soooo lucky!!!!

He has a gash in his head with staples in.......severe swelling on his spine, you can see it no probs(which is a concern)

Ypu can see where the seatbelt has been and he has a huge bruise covering his full thigh and up over his buttocks...oh and black balls so he says lol

He had a couple of chipped teeth, and some loose ones, but he is so lucky to be alive, after sein the pics of car.

Docs say that the fact he was so fit and did weights etc saved his life

He is a policeman and couldnr beleive the amount of support he has had, men who he has never met came up from Brisbane just to offer support, totally awesome.
