Travellers over 80
Hopefully emigrating to OZ at new year, only problem is my mother reckons she is to old to visit ( 80 this year). So I need some encouraging stories to help her take the plunge. I would be greatful for any information from parents and grandparents who have visited family over there.:scared:
Thanks Arron's misses.

Hi Arron
My father came over last year to visit for 3 months just after we had emigrated. He is 72 and had no probs with the travel etc. Cheryls Aunty has also had the all clear from the docs to come over and she is 92 next week .
The only thing the doc told my dad was he would be better staying for a min 2-3 months so the body could get over the jetlag, but he had no problem with that any how
Hope this helps

My Mum 65 and My Grandma 84 have just been over to NZ for 9 weeks. First time for Grandma to fly or even leave the UK. Grandma did exceptionally well for her age.

A friend's mother is 93 and still visits her son in Houston and daughter in South Africa. Couldn't stop her if you tried.

My grandmother died so my grandfather decided to go and live in NZ - he was 88. (Aunt out there.) Travelled out business with two people to help him/ keep him company - no problemo. Basically told NZIS to piss off and showed them his bank balance (ie no cost to health service) - they backed off. Died a year or so later.
