Default TRAVEL INSURANCE - ONE WAY TRIP

Having thought that out travel insurance would cover us for our one way (emigration) trip, we found out today that it doesn't. It only covers us for round trips for business or pleasure. And we must have a UK address.
This insurance was "free" with HSBC Premier. Even tho we will have an HSBC account in Oz (and get the same "free" travel cover there) there appears to be no way that HSBC will insure us for this one trip.
All we need cover for is emergency medical, lost/damaged luggage. The ususl stuff. We will be enquiring about one off insurance thru a broker but wondered if anyone else had had this problem?????
