travel insurance - go walkabout or post office?
prices seem about the same - anyone any experiences with claims etc or can spot any major differences when it comes to their policies?

Go Walkabout cover you for 15 days after arrival to give you time to sort out insurance here. Do the PO? They didn't when we looked (2 years ago). Their's stopped immediately you passed through passport control. I had visions of losing all our stuff immediately

PO covered us for 17 days after arrival so we went with them - this year - not sure there is much difference between them - although I'm pretty sure for us the PO quote was cheaper.

"One-Way Cover
This insurance is designed to cover a round trip which starts and finishes at your home in the United Kingdom. It will also provide cover for one-way trips of up to a maximum of 17 days duration, for the purpose of emigration only. The insurance will be restricted to the cover and conditions that would have applied if you had arranged to return to the United Kingdom at the end of the period of insurance."

It might have changed (other bits have) but we couldn't do the PO online. To get one way I had to ring to get the quote. We went with Go Walkabout because of what they offered but it sounds like the PO have upped their policies so give them a ring. Don't go in. The people there will know nothing.
