Question Travel Insurance for Emigrating

Has anyone else had this problem? We are looking for single trip travel insurance to cover our trip to Sydney when we finally leave the UK in April. The standard type travel insurance policies don't cover you if you are not going on a 'conventional' holiday (i.e. going and coming back again) and specialised insurers are charging double the price for a one-way trip! If anyone has encountered this and found a cost-effective solution please let us know! Thanks.

www.go-walkabout.co.uk have emigration insurance which covers you 17 days after you arrive too.

For two adults and one child it cost us about 88 pounds

We had that problem. Used the Post Office and there were no problems whatsoever. Cost about 12o quid for 2 adults and 1 child for about 2.5 weeks cover.

We used 'go-walkabout' and they were lovely people to deal with - 10/10
