Travel Insurance for the BIG MOVE!!
Hi
We are on our way on 5th November-Hurray.
House contents will be insured when they are shipped out but does anyone know of a good package to insure ourselves and the baggage we take on the plane.
Also, I suppose we will need insurance for our personal belongings while we are in rented accommodation for the first few months.
Any help gratefully received.

Lissy do a search on this site on one-way-travel-insurance and you will get all the info there we all have different ideas of what is a good cover some want cover for the first two weeks they are in oz as well and some do not mind it stopping as they enter immigation and then they will take out an oz cover to take over from them.

Incase anyone needs to know this also - I made lots of calls yesterday and Hastings Insurance do a good one way package. Less than £50 for a family of 5. Others were quoting £150-£200

After all they are only insuring us for the journey period.

0800 915 1066 is the number for Hastings. I originally called Peoples Choice 0800 015 6241 & they put me through to them.

Hi Lissy,
Patrick Leigh Travel inurance (backed by Qantas) does a one way migrants package that lasts for 31 days and costs £39 quid per adult very good service too, used them lots of times
Tel 01273 858536 they have a website to but cant remember it exactly something like www.pat-leigh.co.uk ,will ind out and correct this link later.

Tried Hasints for cver for cancellation from today and for cover otherwise from 10th Nov to 28th Nov ceasing in the arrivals lounge fpor two of us they asked for £74.50 LOOKING forward to the new tel no to try this latest mentioned company please
Booked the flights (and paid boo hooo) Could choose pour seats - GREAT I thought until I found there were only 4 or five seats left in any of the flights we have booked luckily I did manage to get seats together in all flights but they are getting very highly booked.

Virgin Travelstore sent me an e-mail advising they do not cover one way trips under any circumstances !!!??? what now?:scared:
