Travel Insurance - Any recommendations
Off to Uk next month for 5 weeks. Any recommendations for travel insurance. It all seems so bloody expensive and I am not really sure what I need to be covered for. Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I always use American Express Travel Insurance, never had to claim though.

I use either http://www.columbusdirect.com.au/ - very reasonable and paid out for a claim in less than 10 days!
I also use http://www.travelinsurancedirect.com.au/ who have great reviews here: http://www.productreview.com.au/show...?item_id=26625

Thanks everyone. Cheapest quote is Columbus (for full coverage) so will probably go with them.

Value for money is important too - make sure you're well covered in all areas.

ANZ Gold Card offers free travel insurance but only if a minimum $250 towards the cost of travel is purchased with the card prior to your departure from Australia.

We paid for our tickets on our regular ANZ credit card and then transferred the balance to a Citibank card as they were offering 0% interest for 12 months and free travel insurance. It was only when I called Citibank that I was told that you had to have used the card to pay for the tickets that I came unstuck!! The coverage with Columbus is more than adequate for us and is very reasonably priced.

Problem with most of the credit card travel insurance is that it is very limited.

Nobody is going to cover for the volcano now as it is an existing situation so I am not worried about that.
