Default Travel Insurance

I am trying to book some travel insurance just to cover the flights and the first couple of weeks untill we get Medicare and an address sorted out.

I have tried a few places but nobody will offer cover for a one way trip!

Does anybody no where we can try?

We used Hamilton Barr on all our travels and found every time that they were the the most competive on price and flexibilty.

They do quote on their website that:

"We arrange tailor-made insurance packages to suit the special requirements of our clients."

Find them at http://www.hamiltonbarr.com/

I'm pretty sure you will be covered by Medicare from the day you arrive.

You can only apply for the card after you've been in the country 10 days. This gives time for the Immigration and Medicare databases to get in synch. But you are covered.

I'd get insurance for any stopover but just check, if anyone needed re-patriating it will probably be back to the UK.
