Transporting luggage between Perth and Sydney
Hey
We are moving to Oz on 3rd May, and having a 5 week travelling holiday before we hope to settle in Sydney.
We are flying with Singapore Airlines, and are going to take advantage of the 40K baggage allowance, but we don't want to drag 2 large suitcases round Oz with us, so intend to leave them with some family we have in Perth.
Does anyone know the cheapest way to then get the cases sent to us in Sydney, as I have had a quote from DHL for $553 PER CASE!
Thanks

There are a few companies
Just doing a quick quote on sevenseas for 2 boxes from Perth to Sydney it comes up at $298. They have the option to put in suitcases... but I didn’t know you’re size and you can probably find cheaper than the $298. (I’ve heard grayhound Australia do great shipping rates)
Here are some sites to try:
http://www.greyhoundfreight.com.au/
https://www.sevenseasworldwide.com
http://www.jetta.com.au
http://www.packsend.com.au/

The guys on a car forum I post on all seem to use http://www.e-go.com.au/ for sending bumpers, engines, wheels, whatever to each other from one end of the country to another.

Re: Transporting luggage between Perth and Sydney
Edit: put it in for a quick quote in e-go.com.au, and if you choose the economy transport of a pallet weighing less than 1000kg, Perth CBD to Sydney CBD by truck would cost...$66. Pallets aren't hard to come by but in any case I am sure that loose cases wouldn't be that much more. Make sure to wrap up/disguise well and insure, though.
