Transporting goods
Had a guy from Pickfords who told us we need an address in Mackay before they can send goods. We said that they could send them, we would arrive and let them know where we were but he said not possible. How can we get an address if we are going for a holiday first and while there we'll look for a rental.

Do you know anybody- friends, relations, anywhere in Mackay or near to there, that can give you their address temporarily as contact point? Otherwise I fear you stuff may not be going anywhere. and your storagew fees will go through the roof. It usually is a requirement to have a fixed delivery address, for the shippers (UK and OZ), Aust Customs and AQIS.
Is it individual items, part or whole container?
How long before you go on holiday are they picking the stuff up? Do you realise that the stuff may take a couple of months to get there?

Get another quote
Give the address of the local takeaway. Its only for customs and needs to be a street address - when you arrive you can then make contact and redirect the delivery. We gave the details of our short stay apartment but left off the name of the place.

And here in Australia we tend to need some sleep as sitting around the Barbie all day in the sun makes us tired at night

Cheers chaps. I'll find the address of a hotel as its personal possessions, more for the kids than us. Were going to try to get it in suitcases but I think there's too much
