Transferring personal jewellery

Hello,

we want take personal gold jewellery to the value of £10k when we fly to Australia. Some of this jewellery was gifts and some personal purchase. We don't have receipts. Any advice? Thanks.

If you are migrating then they are personal imports. Best to carry in hand luggage for security. Problem can be insurance as one way insurance policies are pretty limited.

Search for good insurance that continues for a week or so after arrival. Most one way insurance ends as soon as you pass through Passport Control but you can, by phoning around, get cover that last until you can get some sort of Contents Insurance. Go Walkabout and the Post Office used to offer such cover, but not online, no idea who else may do it now.
