Default Transferring airline loyalty points

We've got lots of air miles/loyalty points from various places, Emirates, Qantas, Air France and the Air Miles company.

Does anyone know if it possible to amalgamate all these, or some of them, on to one card, say Qantas?

I can't see how it could be, at first glance, as they are not connected but wondered if anyone knows differently?

I managed to transfer my BA miles to Qantas but then they are part of the oneworld alliance.

Any ideas?

Airmiles can't be transferred BUT you can cash them in online for vouchers for wine or entertainment to give as presents to people in the UK. We've just done this, it works. The same goes for Shell Pluspoints.

Thanks for that.

I'm not so worried about the Air Miles as we can use these up before we leave for Australia.

It's the points on the airlines' programmes that I'd like to consolidate, if at all possible.

Sorry to go off topic, but how did you manage to do this, as I have a ton of BA miles, but will end up flying Qantas more often??

Why do you even need to transfer? - as it's all part of oneworld you ought to be able to use and earn Qantas miles on BA or vice versa. Check the websites for details on whether this is really possible.

If you want to get a Qantas frequent flyer card then it may be best to do so before you go to Australia, as there is a charge for Aus/NZ residents (or at least there used to be).

I simply emailed them and asked if it could be done. Qantas came straight back and said it would be easier to redeem points on a Qantas card for a Qantas flight rather than BA even though they are part of the same alliance.

So they asked ne to write to BA and request that they transfer the points, which they did within a couple of weeks.

I still have the email address if you want me to PM it to you.

I agree with Jeremy regarding getting the card whilst in the UK as there was a charge for Aus residents.
