oz bound

Hi,

This might seem abit daft or obvious but, we are planning on opening an OZ bank account soon and are just wondering how do we put money into it? Can we do this from our own bank account here in the uk or would we need to use one of the money transferring companies?

Your own bank will charge you the money transferring company won't, they only deal with £5000 and over.

I think you have to be entering Oz within 30 days to do this

When are you planning going to Oz?

you can do either!

there are lots of threads on people using the money changing companies, but we have just used our bank.
set up the oz account and then take the details to your bank and they will transfer it.

you probably get better deals with ozforex or the like, but we found the bank the easy option

We're not planning on going until August next year but would like to build up a wee stash of cash beforehand so that we have something to start off with.

We have just gone through this.

Get on the internet and open an account with a bank in Oz, go to OZFOREX or HIFX and they will arrange everything FREE OF CHARGE.

We used OZFOREX and had to scan id and e-mail it to them before our free account with them was activated.

Next you watch the exchange rate and when you are happy with it contact OZFOREX and exchange your currency. They will put this directly into your bank account in Oz.

There is NO time limit to arriving in Oz,
We haven't even put our visa paperwork in and we've done it with the proceeds from house sale.

If you need to use OZFOREX more than once then that's not a problem either.
