Default transfering money

hi

has anyone got a good recommendation for a transfer company pounds to aud
just started looking into this so if any one could help with the best time to do this and what sort of fees to expect looking to move around £160000
currently got the visa so now putting house on market after xXmasand need to have something in place when needed

(can't wait to get out there)

Try UKForex or HiFX - both have good recommendations on here. Timing wise is a grey area... If we knew the answer to that one we'd all be very rich...

If you check out the above sites you'll see that there's a slight difference between the Interbank rates and the customer rates... That's their margin, and for the sum you're thinking of they'll be no other charges... You just need to fill in a few forms in order to open an account with either and away you go...

All the account opening, etc is online. The money laundering regulations and identity checking means that you'll need to send off some documents to whoever you decide to use; not a great hassle...

Have you opened an account in Oz yet...?

yes still got acount in aus from when we were there
along with tax file num
medicard num
so hopefully not too much hassle when we land
but one more question for you looking to go north into brisbane and have heard i will need a blue card for work (trade joiner)
it apears this is the same as the uk version of the cscs health and safety
what i would like to know is it possible to do in good old blighty before we arrive

Ozforex (i.e. UKForex) are very good and I would recommend them everytime.
