Default trade skills - checks by whom?

Does anyone actually interview you to make sure you are what you say you are and have done what you say you have done on after submitting a skills visa? Just wondered how far they delve into the information that has been provided.

I must hasten to add, I havent done the above but as i was gathering my details together I just wondered how they can actually check to see that what you have put is 100% honest.

Hi TP

No actual interview, but all the info you give in your skills application has to be backed up by paperwork as much as is poss. eg employers refs etc.
All these can and do get checked randomly.
Although I have heard of people getting visits for the DIMIA application but no not the skills.
Good luck

I suppose it depends on the skill you are having assessed....mine was as a butcher...and as far as I am aware they checked no references that I supplied..but I did send them a load of paperwork including trade references and invoices etc...so this must have been enough to satisfy them.
