Trade Licences
Can you go to Australia and obtain your trade licence before actually getting a visa?
As this could make it a little easier when trying to convince an employer to sponsor you on a RSMS visa as it cuts out a little hassle for them.

No, you need to be living in Australia I'm afraid.
It's a pain in the backside, it would be so much easier for lots of people if you could!
