Direct contact with Churches in the area ?
or even Real Estate agents, who may pass on your details to someone with that name if they know them.

I have done the same with Churches in the UK, and the Church has replied to me.

Hey John

I typed those details into White pages:

http://www.whitepages.com.au/wp/initResSearch.do

There are lots of A's but not in Crib Point but she may have moved. However, if you do a search in Crib Point, a few people of that surname come up, but no 'A's'.... could be family?

How about you get on the phone and start cold calling. You might strike lucky. There was only a page... so it wouldn't take you long.

If all else fails you could put in a request to "Find my Family" they dont seem to mind reuniting families from the other side of the world. I agree with the cold calling though, that could be a good start.

Edited to say, there are a few connections to that name on Genesreunited which I assume you have made contact with.

You could also try a small ad in the local newspaper looking for information. Hopefully someone might know something and email you.

I know Crib Point and have looked in our local phone book and there are no people by those names living there now. Only two Battersby's on the whole of the Peninsula one in Red Hill and one in Rosebud. No Burns in Crib Point.

You really need more information than just the surnames. I do not believe the police would be able to help as they change all the time in Hastings.

Crib Point has a large naval base was your relative anything to do with the navy.

There is a graveyard at Crib Point you may find information from the trustees.

Good luck
