TRA qualifications question
I have a short quaestion on behave of my sister in law.
She has a diploma as a hairdresser which included 2 years of apprenticeship. She still has no experience exept those 2 years whilwe learning. I have read on the TRA website that they assess your skills whether you learnt them through formal training or in the job experience. Does this mean that TRA can assess her skills only based on formal training. I know that for migration purposes she needs 1 year experience but she will soon begin to work and is planning to apply after one year of working. Because of the ' deeming date' I think it would be wise to have the skills assessed as soon as possible. Has anybody had their skills assessed by TRA just based on trainig with no experience after that? Thanks in advance for the asnwer(s). Nina |
Re: TRA qualifications question
Hi Nina,
You should contact TRA about this. Generally you are required to have an apprenticeship, or if a recognised diploma and no apprenticeship, four years of training and experience combined. And that's just if you're British. For other nationalities it depends on the recognition by TRA of the training regime. We have their list of guidelines and criteria.
