Question TRA Pre Migration Trade Skills Assessments.

Has anyone applied for the above and can give me an idea on the timescales on approval (Or Rejection )

The paperwork says upto 6 months for a Standard Application and 3 months for a Priorty Application.

The Website says 3 months for a Standard Application.

I have found out that it pays to get 2 copies of a Certified Certificates and things as you have to apply again for your TRA once you arrive in Oz, which seems a bit strange.

Thanks for any advice

Hi there

sent my paperwork off to Oz via courier and once it was submitted we had an answer (positive) in 10 working days.

I'd advise that you get more than 2 copies of everything and anything you think may help, if at all possible. I got three of everything and then made more copies of these at home.

Cheers

Andy

We got his approval back in 12 working days (with easter hols in between) - he is Plumber (skill in demand) so got priority application.

I would recommend you get at least two certified copies of reference letters, passport pages, birth certificates etc as will have to submit them with main visa application also. Another certified copy wouldnt go amiss should you need to reapply for trade equivelancy once in oz (through the TRA also) depending on what your skill is and where you are settling.

Good Luck! Paula
