Default TRA Employment check up

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone can tell me what will be asked/needed from my employer and previous employer from the TRA. I've really had a lot of trouble getting references alone from them and am just worried they will not be that co-operative with them if they are phoned. I understand they WILL be contacted, and probably phoned, but any idea of what will be asked from them ??

Cheers for any help you can give :-)

Paul.

We had to supply declarations of employment along with a description of the work carried out by my husband

This needs on be on headed paper and signed by someone in charge like your direct boss.

Luckily my husband only had 2 or 3 employers, 1 of them though did not have anyone still there who knew him when he worked there so we did a stat dec. saying what he did and how long he worked there. On the others we asked for the headed paper and prepared all the information, just getting them to sign it off. Could be worth a try if they don't want the hassle of doing it.

Good luck
Diane

Hi Diane. Thanks for your reply. As to the phone calls to employers, do you know what was asked by any chance ? This is what I would really like to know. Is it just 'how long worked' or 'confirmation of address' ......... I really don't know!

I think I'll certainly go for asking for letterheads to be completed and get them to sign them, good advice :-) I think you have to send copies anyway so can't really see that being a problem can it ?

Cheers

Paul.

Hate to worry you but even if the TRA do not chase up your employers your case officer can and do, this was the case with us, no big deal for us but just to warn you that it does happen.
