Hello all, i joined a few weeks ago but have unsure how to post messages so i hope u get to see this.

My partner is an electrician so we plan to try and get over on the skilled visa. We sent our first application away to TRA and we expect to hear back within next 2 weeks. We were meant to hear back in 60 days and I swear it feels like a year has passed already. In general does anyone know approx how long they take to get back?

Great site, some of the posts on the forum have been top notch, cheers.

We got our TRA's back really quickly. Probably inside of 60 days. Bit of a lottery I guess?

Re: Tra

TRA at the moment are taking about 13 weeks, when we sent ours in August they were taking more like 16...

Very rarely people get them back before this, but it dont happen often!

You will probably find the Oz Immigration board more help on this:

Ive just looked at the tra web site and it does say 60 working days so you have to add the weekends onto that which makes it around 3 months

Hope this is of some use: we have fast-racked our skills assessment via agents on 29/10/04, received acknowledgment from TRA 05/11/04. Agents say expect a result on or around 03/02/05. Nail biting stuff eh?

Good luck with all yours

Have they opened a really good pub next door to the TRA office, or something??
What's taking so long these days?

When I did mine, I got it back in less than 3 weeks!

Check out this site for timescales.

www.austimeline.com

Incidentally we are also waiting for TRA response for Electrician - acknowledged by TRA 2/11/04, hopefully the wait will soon be over.

Hiya - watch out for www.austimeline.com as it is ADDICTIVE! You begin to start looking at the timelines of everybody else and thinking why is their;s faster than mine.. oh god somethings going on, etc, etc, etc, & it can really make you paranoid! LOL

I found this site about 7 months ago, & ended up a nervous wreck!

Just a quick note to say we sent TRA 06/10/04 and was received on 11/10/04 priority processed and TRA said yes on 16/12/04 - that is 9 weeks 4 days including weekends and this was for general electician (if this is any help to you).
