Toys r us International Gift Vouchers.
Hi , was in "toys r us" today and made a comment about "you should have international gift vouchers" to which the response was "we have".
For those of you who haven't heard it's called "geoffrey money". You buy it in your currency, send it to whoever and when they take it into their local shop they get the equivalent value.
I am delighted as I have had several friends have babies(they can use it in "babies r us " too ) and am spending a fortune on P&P back to the Uk for birthday presents. I know it's sometimes nicer to send a gift , but I easily spend $50-$80 on presents and then another $30 to send it , so $100 geoffrey money is better spent.
Does anyone know of any other shops that do this kind of thing ?
Hope this helps someone,
All the best,
Tass.

Toyworld is a bit bigger here with 20 branches around Brisbane area, although smaller individual shops.
Not sure about the future of Toys 'R' Us here though....
The future of the Australian arm of Toys "R" Us is in doubt after its US parent launched a massive restructuring of its global businesses and warned it might quit the industry.
The retailer, once considered the ultimate specialist or so-called category killer, has racked up big losses since opening in Australia in 1993 with plans to dominate the then-$2.2 billion toy market.
The company's latest accounts show that a decade after its launch, Toys "R" Us's accumulated losses in Australia run to almost $214 million.
