Default Totally new to this!

Firstly hello to you all,and i have loads of questions ...any info given will be read with interest and used to my advantage i hope!!

Me and my other half and two kids aged 1 and 10, girl, boy, respectively are about to set along the long road to going to Oz.

Hoping to do a visit to Perth(to see my family) and Sydney(to see his mate) sometime this year, to look about, i have family over there, and i think my aunty will act as a sponsor, what does that mean for her?

I do office work admin/clerk/invoice kind of thing and the other half is a HGV1 trucker, are we needed? I asked these questions via e-mail to the OZ embassy and got sent alot of stuff which must have been copied and pasted as an answer, needless to say , i have no idea of where to start, who to contact, what to do,and then i found this place -HALLELUJAH!! Somebody speak to me and tell me in simple english - What is my first move?

Thank you for reading x

not sure if your jobs are wanted but best place to look would be www.immi.gov.au you should find a lot of answers there or find an agents website and do a free eligability assesment which should give you some idea of where you stand. A lot of people on here seem to use gomatilda.com and they seem to be recommended

Wow!! some quick responses there...thank you very much you two..... i read the forums before i joined up and i can't figure out all the numbers of the visas- maybe i've got my stupid head on today but its such a lot to take in and then the feeling of ,well, i want to do it right and not waste time/money/life minutes....BTW i love those relocatable houses , i was looking at a website today - how long would it take a bunch of termites to eat it tho!! ...

I think i may contact some of the specialists who people have used on here, wot ya reckon? if you were starting out again and going for it would you use a specialist or do it on your own???

I'm doing it without an agent hard work but for me worth the saving on agent fees but if you're not sure what visa if any and how to go about things getting advice from an agent would be worth while

Just had another nosey on the Oz government website, i think we'll be after a sub class 176.

Another question on behalf of my best friend. She is with an Aussie and they are expecting a baby and when baby is born they want to back to Oz to Brisbane but they live in the Canary Islands at the mo, Her fella has a dog he wants to take home with him, what is their best option?

They are currently being told that it will cost the equivalent of £5000 and that the dog will be quarantined for 6 months - is this correct?

How many peole take their pets over and how do they cope with the flight and separation and are they ever the same dog after that? Was their any changes in their personality?

Dogs from the UK are only quarantined for 30 days...

She will need somesort of spouse visa, Im not sure of the costs though.

We will be taking our 2 dogs, at least they have each other during quarantine...

Have you looked on the truckers section on this site? You've got very limited options with regard to visa's and I think you should take a look at working conditions for truckers, seems to be a LOT of poor employers and difficult working conditions. Would say you'd need an employer to get you in but are an awful lot of truckers for the jobs available. Maybe you may have to retrain??

Can't go 176 as your occupations are not on skilled list

Only certain specialised railway are on skilled list. Would strongly recommend that you speak to an agent as you're making whole process appear a little more simple than it will be for you, at the end of the day, no skill in demand no visa

We used an agent - Visa Bureau - I would suggest speaking to someone at an agency - at least you would know from the outset what the requirements are. It is quite a complicated process.
