One of the major costs is loss of income when you give up your UK job and before you move to Aus/ NZ and start your new work.

How come your application charge was only £540, most seem to be around £770

It was for a Spouse visa - I think someone else on the post has the same amount too

But even after all that money, once we got our visa (yesterday) - cant stop opening the passport to check it out! Exciting!

I think we have spent about £1700 give or take £100 either way have done it ourselves but then we felt we probably would have had to give an agent all the info in the first place. This includes ANC assessment, meds, police check and visa application.

I thought this poll was only asking how much it cost to just get a PR visa, not including shipping costs, travel and loss of earnings etc. Maybe a new thread should cover that.

As I said before, as I applied for a spouse visa it is realatively cheap at about 750.

The disadvantage, of course, is that I have no idea that I will get a job in Oz because my skills may not be in demand. The people that have applied successfully for a skills based visa know at least that their skills are in demand.

Come on, don't start adding in all the extras, just simply the visa costs, otherwise we'll all be shooting ourselves.

Poor Sindy, I bet you wish you'd never started counting!!!!!!
