Don't see that it really matters. Takes all of two minutes to reply to such a posed question.
One would assume they have an awareness of likelihood of acceptability. Even if just curious, such questions I'm sure assist others in arriving at a decision to whether it is all worth the effort.

I have spent about 2 days in Sydney and about 25 years in Toronto. Thus I am not ideally placed to compare the cities. I can, however, say with confidence, that the traffic in Toronto is so dense, so poorly organized, and so packed with incompetent drivers that, even if one were moving from Delhi, Mexico City or Los Angeles, it would not seem better. Toronto is an awful place to get in to or out of on weekdays because of traffic volume and worse on weekends because the roads are closed. Sydney cannot be worse in that regard.

Comparisons of two cities could go on for fifty pages. Whether somebody might qualify for a visa is something which I believe many on here could establish with one post in two minutes flat. Why the OP is so secretive about it is quite baffling.

Even more odd is how traffic got in this conversation.

I supposed it does matter if you are in Dehli or Jakarta but surely traffic is not high on the average Torontan (what do you call someone from Toronto?) list of major issues in life.

Not a big fan of Toronto and Sydney - both are overrated cities but Toronto even more so

Vancouver and Melbourne are much better places in respect to both countries

And Vancouver and Melbourne are not over rated? Both cities rate usually top in the Mercer Index, I think it is. Ideal if employer is picking up the bill, but try and live in Vancouver on a normal wage. Housing is as insane as Sydney. Homeless are far more in evidence. Drug problems appear to be epidemic. Foreigners have been out pricing locals for a long time.


Nice inner city vibe though, often held up as an example to Australian cities. Our local City of Vincent mayor being quite a supporter of Vancouver infrastructure. Especially the ease of cycling in that city.


Pleasant climate but hardly inclusive these days to people not well minted. Is it better than Toronto? I bit like the Sydney versus Melbourne debate. Both have their supporters. I prefer as a casual visitor Vancouver. But for living probably neither. At a pinch if called to name a city, Montreal for me.

Why look towards Jakarta or Delhi though. Far better to look at cities like Helsinki (perhaps soon to be the first auto free city) or Copenhagen or Antwerpen or Strasbourg and a host of other European cities turning back the tide of obnoxious traffic.


I suppose looking towards those two Asian cities mentioned, one could comfortably go along al fresco living on the streets for the homeless as well,in the Australian context, being that a rather common form of abode in Indian cities.
Asian street planning have little in common with Australian cities. At least for the present.

Well they may well but so what? Weather reports and other mind boggling stuff do on many a forum. The OP posed such a question, a rather common theme in many a thread on a swag of forums I guess. Some just like to read comparisons I suppose. No one is compelled to respond of course.

Torontonians are primarily concerned with events in their home countries, the weather and then traffic. People in the suburbs, Mississauga, Scarborough, North York and beyond, are primarily concerned with traffic, the price of their houses, events in their home countries and the weather.

One could not fairly say that joy is an emotion routinely expressed in the Greater Toronto Area.

People in Vancouver, otoh, are primarily concerned with the price of their houses ($1000/sq. ft. according to my child there) and then with how great it is to be in Vancouver.
