I like Montalto www.montalto.com.au
or Ten Minutes By Tractor www.tenminutesbytractor.com.au
but there are many more I haven't visited yet.
There is a good craft market at Red Hill on the first Saturday of the month which is worth visiting also.

Top 5 things not to be missed while in Melbourne? (the title should have read) {MOD - changed title for you}
Hi
We are travelling to Melbourne in September to validate our PR visas. Apart from looking around some of the suburbs that we are interested in what else would you reccommend to check out while we are there.
We like the sound of visiting Philip Island. There are Shearwater birds coming back from Alaska on the 24th September (exactly on this date every year supposedly) and it is a great sight to see according to a few guidebooks.
Then there are the penguins to see there aswell.
We might have a look at Morington aswell. I would like to visit the MCG if we can, do they run tours there. The AFL final is on at that time too but won't have a hope of getting a ticket or so I have been told.
Is the Melbourne Gaol worth visiting?
We have 3 weeks in total in Oz but will be 5-6 days in Sydney visiting family so the rest should be for Melbourne.
Any advice welcome.

We went to the National Gallery of Victoria at the weekend. We thought our three-year olds might find it boring, but there was a colouring in area for kids of all ages, and a great climbing frame sculpture in the gardens so they were happy! We didn't get to see all the exhibitions but there is some quite impressive stuff in there.

Penguin parade at Phillip Island last time we went we had bil in a wheelchair so we paid the extra and went to the smaller viewing area and it was great.
With a toddler I think the Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary and also Werribee open Zoo would be good. Point Nepean is a lovely place to visit as well.
I do not think the city is child friendly though. That said its push shove unfriendly for most at times.
Parks Victoria web site has a lot of good places for visitors as well.

I'd do Healesville and the Yarra Valley wineries together - there are loads around that area - OH liked Redbox (http://www.redboxvineyard.com.au/about.asp)
and Samsons Hill (http://www.samsonhill.com.au/).
One route from the City might be to take the Eastern Freeway/Eastlink until you get to Ringwood bypass turnoff then turn left on the Maroondah Highway.
After Healesville (where you can take a picnic lunch which the birds will try to share) you could take the more scenic route back (through the wine regions) through to Kangaroo Ground and on to Warrandyte (scenic village with river walking and lovely cafes and individual shops and a bakery with a playground so you buy a coffee and a pie and let the little one have fun - find Warrandyte centre not Goldfields plaza though Goldfields has supermarket, chemist, bakery, jewelry store) - there's also a conservation area in Warrandyte called Pound Bend where you can sometimes see Koala's if you have good eyesight and sometimes kangaroos - although believe it or not you're more likely to see them in Kangaroo ground!) before heading home.
Enjoy

I have put up a post on the 'Barbie' section on Mornington Peninsula. I just happened to see it on www.taste.com.au and it has great info on where to eat and wineries in the area.
