Tools????!!?!?!?!?
Hi guys,
my hubby is a plasterer and most of his tools are pretty clean except for a few hand tools which have a pretty thick coating of sand/cement/plaster on them! he has cleaned them all off with Jeyes fluid but is having a bit of a problem getting the caked on stuff off! Does every single trace have to be removed? hugs Rach and a smelly Mark! xxxx |

Does every single trace have to be removed? hugs Rach and a smelly Mark! xxxx Most of my stuff was spotless but there were things I was a bit iffy about and the packers just said ` don`t worry they will be fine ` - I hope they were right !!! I even spent one Sunday afternoon cleaning a tin full of screws , wife thought I was mad but I didn`t want to take any risks . I think the things they are most worried about are things covered in mud - spades , bike tyres etc - I think paint , plaster etc should be fine . Dave |

god i hope my husband doesn't want to take all his plastering gear.
why don't you buy over there? i'd kill him if he even suggested it. mind you he wants to leave plastering behind, we are going stni to tasmania hopefully this time next year when our eldest daughter leaves school. good luck with your cleaning though. i don't know who's the worst, cleaning screws or a plastering whisk helen |

i suggested to hubby that he buy new but most of his tools are spotless even though a couple of years old! he hasn't done all his screws and small bits but said the wisk was a doddle!

I use a trade tool place to buy some of my tools, ive purchased some from uk, and some from them whilst in Oz. tools I even spent 3 hours cleaning my Mixer !!!! what a saddo lol. Oh and a tip Steve Bannister gave cpl of threads a go, was leave a small cloth dipped in Jeyes in your tool boxes. Sure he suggested that, coulda been me lol. |
After years of posting , this crap, will some one listen, work tools we do not give a SHIT about , WE don,t want garden tools etc coated with SOIL, THIS , is what we are concerned about, there are soil VIRUSES in EUROPE that still don,t , exist in AUSTRALIA....:D :beer: MM.......WAKE UP

Give those tools a good hydrochloric acid bath. Soon you will be able to use them as a mirror aswell.
