Default Too impatient to wait for house to sell???

Hi, we're moving from NZ-Oz and are applying for a 461 visa for myself, rest of the family are Kiwis (we do intend to start a 175 onshore as soon as we land though). Dh has applied for a job, visa application is being processed (medical next week), kids signed up for school etc, etc. The fly in the ointment is selling our newly built home in the middle of nowhere. We're moving in with my mum in Oz so won't have any rent/mortgage initially so are planning to go whether it sells or not and continue to pay the mortgage from Oz. *some* people think we're mad and should wait.

WWYD?

With no rent or mortgage to pay I would definitely go!! You are in a better position than a lot of people on here.

Good luck,
Ren

I have a house to sell - been on market 4 weeks and so far not a sniff! But I'm going! Sold or not. In the current climate you could wait forever to sell - and waste opportunities in the process.

I'm gonna give it six months on the market and then rent it out if I have to, but I say if you can afford to cover the costs and still move then go for it!

Oh crumbs- I don't want to jinx it (not that I believe in such a thing) but we've just signed on a cash offer just $20K under asking price, subject to title and LIM- not bad in current market I don't think.

Lost $50K of equity though

Nervous wait for it to go unconditional ...

Thats great news, fingers crossed for you. We have a couple from London coming up in a couple of weeks for their third viewing so I am hopeful that we might get some good news soon too
