Re: Time for a Sydney Meet???????
We'd definately be up for a meet up. Don't arrive until the 1st July though. I agree - somewhere child friendly would be good for us too. Don't know where you met last time, but maybe a picnic/barbie in the park somewhere? Or for a very kiddie-oriented option, one of those playcentres like (sorry big list coming up):
playcentres The facilities listed below are commercially operated children's playcentres offering indoor activities, such as bouncy castles, ball-pits, slides, push-vehicles and more. For exact details of the equipment at a particular centre, and opening times, contact facilities directly. Some facilities also offer regular 'playgroup' times with organised activities to enable you to meet up with other local parents and children. sydney & surrounding suburbs AJ's Fun Factory (0 - 12 years) Unit 2, 7 Turbo Rd, Kings Park ph: (02) 9676 1071 Clown Town (0 - 10 years) Building C2, Capital Business Park, 1-3 Rodborough Rd, Frenchs Forest ph: (02) 9975 1955 Crazy Maze Café (0 - 10 years) Unit 3, First Floor, 30-34 Station St, Engadine ph: (02) 9548 6999 Fun House (0 - 12 years) 35 Barry Ave, Mortdale ph: (02) 9534 3333 funtime 4 kidz (0 - 10 years) Unit 4, Old Illawarra Rd, Menai ph: (02) 9541 4600 Grommets Indoor Playcentre (0 - 10 years) 14 Jubilee Ave, Warriewood ph: (02) 9999 5366 Jitterbugs Play and Learn (0 - 10 years) 1 Norfolk Pde, Matraville ph: (02) 9311 7717 Jungle Gym Playcentre (0 - 10 years) Augusta Shops, Veterans Pde, Collaroy Plateau ph: (02) 9982 5489 Kazza'a Fun House (0 - 9 years) Cnr Campbell & Macquarie Sts, Liverpool ph: (02) 9821 4982 Kid About Playland (0 - 11 years) Unit 6, 2-10 Gallipoli St, St Mary's ph: (02) 9623 2222 Kidmania Bankstown (0 - 12 years) Shop 99, Mall Level, Bankstown Square Shopping Centre, Bankstown ph: (02) 9793 7577 Kidz-A-Maze (0 - 12 years) 1A Stanton Rd, Seven Hills ph: 1300 556 293 Kidz Fun Factory (0 - 10 years) 1/44 Eddie Rd, Minchinbury ph: (02) 9625 5372 Kidz Jungleplay (0 - 7 years) Shop F2, Level 3, Roselands Shopping Centre, Roselands Dr, Roselands ph: (02) 9758 6555 Kidz World (0 - 8 years) Shop 301, Westfield Shopping Cr, George St, Liverpool ph: (02) 9824 3081 Lollipops Playland (0 - 11 years) Unit 5, 185 Airds Rd, Leaumeah ph: (02) 4627 7744 Lollipops Playland and Café (0 - 11 years) 10 Hudson Ave, Castle Hill ph: (02) 9680 8868 Party Play (1 - 7 years) Shop 7, Crosswalk Plaza, Cnr Cross St & Crofts Ave, Hurstville ph: (02) 9570 1266 Playdays (0 - 6 years) Unit G, 22 College St, Gladesville ph: (02) 9816 5844 7-9 Reaghs Farm Rd, Minto ph: (02) 9824 5435 Playhouse Café (0 - 7 years) Shop 5057e, Level 5, Westfield Parramatta, Parramatta ph: (02) 9635 9777 Playmaze (0 - 10 years) 4 George Hunter Dr, Narellan ph: (02) 4647 6200 Play Planet (0 - 12 years) 18 Wattle Rd, Brookvale ph: (02) 9938 6464 Red Rover Playhouse (0 - 11 years) 22 Green St, Brookvale ph: (02) 9939 5199 Run-A-Muk (0 - 12 years) Unit 14, 65-75 Captain Cook Dr, Caringbah ph: (02) 9531 0880 Shrimps Play & Party Centre (0 - 12 years) 1/2a Mimosa St, Bexley ph: (02) 9587 7377 Softplay (0 - 8 years) Shop 67, Macarthur Square Shopping Centre, Campbelltown ph: (02) 4626 6088 Shop 610, Westfield Shopping Centre, Chatswood ph: (02) 9410 2500 Tik Tocs (0 - 12 years) Unit 2, 9 Enterprise Circuit, Prestons ph: (02) 9607 0888 Time Out Play Centre (0 - 10 years) 397 Pacific Hwy, Asquith ph: (02) 9477 1114 Tot Rock Café (0 - 7 years) The Hills Shopping Centre, Cnr Prospect Hwy & Federal Rd, Seven Hills ph: (02) 9676 1234 Zone 3 Playcentre (0 - 5 years) Cnr South Creek Rd & Thew Pde, Cromer ph: (02) 9972 2916 |
Hi mummy
It would be good to meet with you We have to consider the amenities close to railway stations as lots do not drive into Sydney The Circular Quay was a good area as it is central and easy to park for those who who risk the drive and also an interesting area If we can find somewhere that is near this and has the facilities you require plus - (think of the weather it is unbelievably cold early in the day and mid afternoon) so BBQ/p[icnic may not be a satisfgactory answer at this time of year - it would be good. Any suggestions anyone........:) |
Would really like to meet up. We're there in 2 weeks and feeling quite unsure of it all! the kids 16, 10 and 7 would also like to meet other kids so Name the day n place and we will be there!

Just let us know date place and time and we'll try to make it. Sunday is the best day for me cause i work weekends. Hope to see you all again soon. Debbie jo:) |

Originally posted by JulesandChris Hi Yvonne, great idea. Jules and I would be up for it. Be good to see you again. Not a bad idea. If it's the cafe I'm thinking, it's not an 'indoors' type of cafe although there is plenty of shelter if it rains. http://www.rbgsyd.gov.au/__data/page...tgardcafe2.jpg Photo looks good What address - nearesrt railway station and line and what parking??? Looks as if it would be a Sunday midday towards the middle/end of July at this rate. |
I love this quote on the RBG's website:
Please walk on the grass! We also invite you to smell the roses, hug the trees, talk to the birds and picnic on the lawns. Train: the nearest station is Martin Place. Other stations close to the Royal Botanic Gardens are St James and Circular Quay. Ferry: an easy walk from Circular Quay Bus: the 441 (Balmain via QVB Building) leaves York Street, Town Hall on weekdays, stopping outside the Art Gallery of NSW. The Sydney Explorer Bus also includes the Royal Botanic Gardens on its route and the 200 (Chatswood to Bondi, stops in Macquarie Street). Car: there is metered parking along Mrs Macquaries Road, Hospital Road and Macquarie Street. Undercover parking is available at the Domain Carpark, Sydney Hospital Carpark and other commercial carparks nearby. |
Oh, the website where I nicked that info from:
