Default Time running out

On our PR visas it states that we are allowed multiple travel but must not arrive in Australia after April 05. We assume this means we can still move over there in the remaining time and then remain there (without leaving) for at least 2 years in order to apply for citizenship. Obviously if we leave Aus before the 2 years and this is after April 05 we would no longer be able to return there on these visas.

The visas we have are only required for entry into Australia and although these could expire while we are there, we can remain there indefinitely in order to qualify for citizenship.

Am I right in thinking this?

Hi Rob,
even if your original PR visa date has expired & you need to leave Oz then I think you can apply for another visa whilst in Oz.

But as the man say yes you need to be there by that date - April 5th

Bye

No, you have to be there by April 05, but you can leave again. Plenty of people just do a validation trip because they're not ready for the permanent move.

You have to be there for 2 years to apply for citizenship, but you can also fly out of Oz to go on holiday, say, in this time.
